Es gibt bisher keine funktionierende und getestete Lösung für eine authentisierte Lokalisierung. Daher ist es zur Zeit für ein technisches Gerät nicht möglich, sicherzustellen, dass eine angegebene Position der Realität entspricht.

Stellt man die Aspekte ''Verfahren zur Positionsbestimmung'', ''Vertrauenswürdigkeit von Positionsangaben'', ''Anwendungsmöglichkeiten'' und die sich daraus ergebenden Probleme für eine authentisierte Ortsangabe in den Mittelpunkt, ergeben sich eine Reihe komplexer, ungelöster Fragestellungen, die in diesem Projekt erläutert werden sollen.
